/01What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels. This policy covers all of them.
/02Cookies we use
- Strictly necessary: a session cookie to remember form state and keep the site working. No consent needed. Expires when you close the browser.
- Preferences: your theme choice (ink or paper), stored in local storage. Expires after 12 months.
- Analytics (optional, only if you accept): Google Analytics 4 sets
_gaand_ga_FM9LR4D1TFto tell returning visits apart and count which pages are read. IP addresses are anonymised. They expire after 13 months. Nothing loads until you accept. - Perspectives subscription: a cookie to remember you have already subscribed so we stop asking. Expires after 12 months.
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking or social media pixels.
/03Third parties
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics receives page views and anonymised usage data under Google’s privacy policy. Embedded content, where used, is loaded only after you click it, so other third parties set nothing until you choose to interact.
/04How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookie may stop forms working. Deleting the preference cookie resets the theme. For analytics, choose below. We honour it immediately and remember it in your browser.
/05Changes
If we add a cookie we will update this list and the date at the top before it goes live.
